The Ballaarat General Cemeteries Trust is committed to environmental sustainability and the continual improvement of its environmental performance, recognising its obligations both locally and globally.

The Trust will manage its activities over which it has control and which impact upon the environment in accordance with the principles of environmental sustainability.

In doing so the Trust will:

Adopt these guidelines

Reduce;
Re-use;

Re-cycle.

Consider sustainability issues when making, planning and managing decisions.
Promote and encourage environmental awareness to ensure employees are aware of their environmental responsibilities.
Aim to continually improve environmental performance by identifying and addressing environmental risk.
Make resources available to implement environmental risk management procedures.
Consider environmentally friendly options when purchasing assets, goods and services.
Employ strategies to reduce energy use, consumables, potable water and the Trust’s carbon footprint.
